Fun in Mexico
We took the kids to Rocky Point for a few days and had a great time. The water was warm and clear and the beaches were beautiful. We collected shells, went on lots of walks, rented quads, rode on wave runners, and did lots of swimming and eating. We have never seen our kids sit in their seats, with seat belts securely fastened, with the most somber expression on their face, as when we said the simple phrase, "I think we're at the border." (Maybe too much talk and prepping for that occasion.) I'm not sure if it helped matters that our dad was driving without his license!

I helped move Grandma this weekend. We finally got all of her stuff into this storage unit. Then I got stuck in the flamingo! We are so glad the job is finally done!

Denmark: Our Wonderful Experience
Caleb and I went to Denmark this weekend for a MINI EFY conference/training. We get to be Building Counselors (BC's) for EFY this summer with all of the LDS from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, plus more. We got to meet several of the Counselors and BC's from those places. It was fun to mingle with other members of the Church from Foreign lands. In Denmark, everyone speaks excellent English, Perhaps better than some of us. Some, even without an accent.
The highlight of that trip was going into Copenhagen to see the original Christus statue that was adopted by the church. We see this in Salt Lake and several other church visitor's centers around America.
Some of you may recall the Story of President Kimball and Elder Nelson: I found this quick rendition of the story on LDS.ORG
Adapted from Robert D. Hales, “Examples from the Life of a Prophet,” Ensign, Nov. 1981, 20.
Holding Priesthood Keys
President Kimball and some other Church leaders traveled to Denmark for an area conference.
While there, they visited a cathedral to see Thorvaldsen’s original famous sculpture, the Christus.
President Kimball: Isn’t it beautiful?
In the cathedral stood a statue of Peter holding a large set of keys.
President Kimball turned to a nearby caretaker to explain.
President Kimball: The keys of priesthood authority that Peter held as President of the Church I now hold as President of the Church in this dispensation.
President Kimball: Every day you are near Apostles in stone, but today you are in the presence of living Apostles.
President Kimball presented the man with a Danish Book of Mormon and bore his testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
The man was moved to tears.
Caretaker: Today I have been in the presence of servants of God.
President Kimball never feared to share his witness of the gospel and bear his testimony to people around the world.
